Caitlin – our half-marathon runner!

Meet our half-marathon runner, Caitlin!

On 23rd March Caitlin is running the Bakers Brentwood half-marathon and raising money for us at TNA UK. As with all our tremendous fundraisers we’re really grateful to Caitlin, especially since this is her first half-marathon! You can sponsor her here

Caitlin (pictured above with her boyfriend), from Essex, graduated as a dentist in 2021 from Bristol University and works predominantly in hospital in oral and maxillofacial surgery and with the oral medicines team. Because of this she often sees suspected TN cases who are referred from GPs and dentists. Caitlin recently attended, and presented at, the prestigious European Association for Cranio Maxilla Facial Surgery conference in Rome.

She says “Trigeminal neuralgia has always really interested me because its symptoms have such a tremendous impact on patients and their quality of life, and I feel that as healthcare providers this is our chance to really make a difference to patients. Simple tasks many of us may take for granted such as getting dressed or applying makeup can be a real challenge for patients in fear it may trigger an episode of their TN.”

Outside work, and other than training to support us, she enjoys swimming and taking her two dogs out on the beach.

Thank you so much Caitlin for all of your support. Good luck in your training ahead of the 23rd March.
