2025
TNA UK AGM and Training Day and training day in Norwich was a day to remember. It was a celebration of progress, community, and the resilience of those living with trigeminal neuralgia and facial pain. This gathering reminded us of our shared mission: to reduce isolation, raise awareness, and ensure that no one faces this condition alone.
A Warm Welcome
From the moment attendees arrived, the atmosphere was one of warmth and care. Volunteers and staff made everyone feel at home. One member shared:
“I was welcomed with a hug and asked if I was okay. Nothing was too much trouble for the TNA staff and volunteers. I was nervous about coming on my own but left with new friends and a support network I can rely on.”
The thoughtful touches, from delicious smoothies and fresh fruit to a carefully organised schedule, made all the difference. Another attendee said:
“Thank you for a wonderful day, great lunch, and even smoothies! The attention to detail made me feel truly valued.”
Inspiring Training from Andrea Lucchetti
One of the day’s highlights was the training session delivered by Andrea Lucchetti from Wymondham Chiropractic and Acupuncture Clinic. Andrea shared practical insights into alternative therapies like chiropractic care, acupuncture, and pressure points. His expertise offered hope to many attendees looking for new ways to manage their pain.
One participant reflected:
“I felt so grateful to be at the training. Andrea’s session gave me a fresh perspective on managing my condition and practical tools to explore.”
Another added:
“Andrea’s presentation was enlightening. It gave me new ideas to discuss with my healthcare team and hope that alternative approaches could bring relief.”
Reflecting on Our Achievements in the TNA UK AGM & Training Day 2025
This AGM also allowed us to celebrate our accomplishments over the past year. Despite challenges, TNA UK has continued to grow and adapt:
- Legacy Planning: Families have made lasting contributions, with one sharing how their legacy gift brought them closer to our mission and gave them renewed purpose.
- Volunteer Development: Comprehensive training for helpline staff, Regional Support Group leaders and Friendship Line volunteers ensures compassionate, tailored support.
- Digital Improvements: A refreshed website now provides easy access to medical updates, events, and donation options.
- Awareness Campaigns: The #ShowTNFP3Fingers campaign boosted social media engagement by 80%, raising awareness for trigeminal neuralgia and facial pain.
One member summed it up perfectly:
“Meeting people with the same condition made me feel cared for and understood. TNA UK is more than a charity—it’s a community.”
Addressing Challenges
While we celebrated progress, we also acknowledged the challenges we’ve faced.
The cost-of-living crisis has added financial pressures for many, while cold weather has worsened symptoms for some members. In response, we expanded membership assistance and maintained essential support services.
Volunteer fatigue was another challenge. We provided extra resources and support to address this, ensuring our team could continue their vital work with energy and compassion.
Gratitude to Our Team and Supporters
Our achievements would not be possible without the dedication of our volunteers, trustees, and Medical Advisory Board. I want to thank: you personally
- Heather Morris, our Finance and Membership Manager, for her meticulous work in ensuring financial stability.
- Dr Giorgio Lambru and Mr Sinan Barazi, whose expertise continues to guide our work.
- Every volunteer, whose compassion and dedication make TNA UK a lifeline for so many.
One volunteer reflected:
“Being part of the TNA team means making a difference. Days like this remind me why I do what I do.”
Looking to the Future
Our focus for the coming year is clear:
- Expand our volunteer base to meet growing demand.
- Strengthen advocacy efforts to ensure TN is prioritised within healthcare policy.
- Grow the Friendship Line and Regional Support Group network to reduce isolation.
- Drive forward collaborative research partnerships to improve outcomes for members.
These goals reflect our unwavering commitment to making a tangible difference for those living with trigeminal neuralgia and facial pain.
Together, We Are Stronger
This AGM was a powerful reminder that TNA UK is not just a charity—it’s a family. Every shared story, every smile, and every connection strengthens our resolve to fight for a brighter future.
One attendee beautifully summed up the spirit of the day:
“I felt valued, supported, and inspired. Being part of TNA UK has given me a sense of belonging I didn’t know I needed.”
Thank you to our members, volunteers, trustees, and supporters for your unwavering belief in our mission. Together, we will continue to raise awareness, provide support, and drive change.
Together, we are stronger. Thank you for all that attended the TNA UK AGM and Training Day
