Aneeta’s experience of bilateral Trigenimal Neurglia began in 2010, with severe pain and resulting in sleep deprivation. Her condition remained undiagnosed until 2017. Surgery to ameliorate the pain on the right-hand side was performed at UCHL in December 2019.
Aneeta is committed to working with leading experts globally to discover the best ways to bring relief to fellow suffers.

Since becoming the CEO of TNA-UK, Aneeta has more than doubled the Association’s membership and has introduced a freephone helpline number to give easy access to Trigeminal Neurglia sufferers and their careers. Aneeta also introduced the program of National online webinars for TNA members. During the COVID pandemic lockdown periods, leading world experts attended these webinars which were described by many TN sufferers as a “lifeline.” For some, being completely isolated, it was the first time they had used Zoom. The information, support, and reassurance made all the difference, bringing a greater understanding of treatments and possible surgery to hundreds of members and their families.
Aneeta has successfully applied for grants in kind, enabling members to receive their own free tablets and internet connectivity. This has helped to alleviate the loneliness and isolation experienced by a good number of TNA members who are facing the extreme challenge of the current cost of living crisis.
Aneeta has introduced a number of fund-raising incentives including Tea for TNA and the #faceofTN. She is looking to increase funding streams for Regional Support Groups, the Telephone Helpline, and much-needed research into TN, its causes, and possible alleviation.
Outside her work with TNA-UK, Aneeta is the founder of the Freedom Charity which works to eradicate forced marriage, FGM, and modern-day slavery and she has authored two novels that support Freedom’s work. She is a former member of the Metropolitan Police Authority and is a serving London Magistrate in the Adult, Youth, and Family courts.
Aneeta has an honorary Doctorate of Letters from the University of Winchester and regularly appears on major TV and radio networks as an established and well-respected commentator. Articles featuring her work and comment are published in magazines and the national press. She received the Prime Minister’s Point of Light Award in 2014 and has been recognized, for four consecutive years, as being among London’s Most Recognised Influential People in the Evening Standard’s Progress 1000 Award. She was also featured in British Airways’ BA 100 campaign celebrating 100 makers of modern Britain. Aneeta was recognised In the King New Years Honors list with an MBE for her work in the charity sector.
